Announcement of the Oasis Partnership with the First Airnode Integration Grant
API3 is proud to announce a partnership with the Oasis Foundation to develop the Oasis Protocol, a privacy-friendly blockchain. API3 and the Oasis Foundation will jointly provide a grant to develop and test a Rust version of Airnode so that data providers running Airnode can provide data to projects built on the Oasis network.
Oasis intends to make DeFi more accessible to the general public by offering scalable transactions and the ability to tokenize personal data in addition to private smart contracts. The Oasis network features a one-of-a-kind design that divides computational consensus processes into two layers: the consensus layer and the ParaTime layer. This architecture enables the network to offer various parallel computing environments (ParaTimes) tailored to specific use cases.
One of the primary characteristics of the Oasis Network is confidential computer support, which ensures that data remains encrypted and secret even when being processed by a node on the network. Oasis Labs has also built a TypeScript SDK called Parcel to make it easier for developers to use these data protection capabilities. This guarantees that data ownership and access restrictions are readily enforced and that data is used in a privacy-compliant manner. As a result, data that would normally be unavailable to smart contracts can be used; this could include personal information, highly secret corporate information, or other sorts of information that should not be made public.
Airnode’s connection with the Oasis network allows Parcel to utilize API3 data sources to provide developers access to different sorts of data for their privacy-sensitive applications. Dapps that are compelled.
Grants for Airnode integration
Airnode’s oracle design has some unique advantages. One is the ability for any API provider running Airnode to push data to any supported blockchain after initial integration work is complete. Meaning that integration offers developers more than 125 proprietary APIs in the new integrated platform for creating Dapps.
Thanks to Airnode’s blockchain standalone design, initial pre-alpha, and upcoming beta versions can easily be adapted to any EVM-compliant chain, and integration typically takes less than a day.
API3 is now expanding Airnode’s compatibility by co-sponsoring integration grants for blockchains that don’t support EVM or where a non-EVM integration provides greater functionality. Having a suite of API providers to create dapps will assist developers working on all blockchains. Having this consistently available across different blockchains will facilitate multi-chain deployment.
